The Start of Another Adventure

Hello, mga ka-Kool Voice! So here we are, on the last day already of the CVAP Batch 12 class. Ang bilis naman ng oras no? I'm just glad to be still able to commit to this on top of my current work that requires me to stay up during the "ungodly hours". Anyway my body is already quite getting used to it. More insights were shared from Ms. Lyn Gonzales. I'm just glad to have immersed myself into this part of session. I'm also thankful that my alarm clock worked to be able to join the session with Ms. Lyn! Several pointers about this line of work had been discussed. At this very point, voice reels have been already discussed. This, alongside a VA resume, are used as determinants to figure the best line of work that suits each voice artist.  I've realized time and again, that voice artistry doesn't always equate to the ability of imitating the voices of different celebrities. It's in the determination of a voice artist to share their talent with the world...

On Taking Care of One's Voice, and the Importance of Voice Branding

Hello mga ka-Kool Voice! Now we're about to discuss some highlights of the Day 3 of CVAP Batch 12 training! Ms. Janeane Santos presented her lectures on the third day of Certified Voice Artists Program training. First, she explained about how a brand name brings a positive vibe to any voice artist. Then she explained the importance of practicing in any field, be it for a beginner or a veteran in the voice artist industry. One tip to be able practice is to record oneself. In this way, a voice artist can hear how they sound, and they can give themselves some necessary feedback. Ms. Janeane pointed out that our voices sound different from how we hear it, to how others actually hear it. Tongue twisters are also important in practicing, and I find myself doing it occasionally. I have re-learned that this is essential in helping improve one's pronunciation. I also loved na may sample tong twisters na prinisinta si Ms. Janeane during the middle of the Part 1 ng Day 3 session! Reading ...

Learning More About Technicals in Voice Artist Training

Hello, mga ka-KoolVoice! For the second day of CVAP training, we finally got to have an idea on how to set up for the most ideal equipment for recording even when at home. I love how the basics were explained in a way that participants would understand so easily. The night before Day 2, nag-set ako ng alarm na akala ko tutunog nang malakas para magising ako before 9:00 am. Eh ang nangyari, bumangon ako at around quarter to 10 am na! HAHAHAHA! At least nasa kalagitnaan na ako ng first half ng buong session. Yun bang ine-explain na kung paano gumamit ng Adobe Audition. At least may pambawi naman ako after the lunch break, hehehe. I only got to catch up on the start of the session after the end of the complete first run, but I'm just elated that the instructor for that day, Mr. Joshua Simeon, gave a simple explanation on the equipment used for recording. It was then that I started to install Adobe Audition and got to play around with the effects. So far I am already able to record cli...

My First Day of the Certified Voice Artist Program Training

Day 1 Experience   Greetings everyone! Yes, it took me literally a long time before I was finally able to start my own vlog. As of now I’m still in the process of polishing it. But it should be ready as it is whenever I can find the time to render the finishing touches that are necessary. Anyway, I’d want to introduce (or reintroduce) myself, this time as someone who had long been wanting to enter the blogosphere. My name is Billicent Macuse, or Billi/Billie/Billy (any spelling will do, hahaha), a non-conventional 20-something who wanted to explore the world in my own special way.   How I learned about CVAP I was already in the process of applying for a work-from-home job for reasons such as wanting to save up on any possible allowance or simply spending more time with my family when I first heard about Certified Voice Artists Program or CVAP. Roilan Marlang, founder of Hands In Inclusion Pilipinas, had participated in the most recent batch of CVAP at the time, had...
